The Henry Regnery Company was the parent company to Reilly and Lee, the publishers of the Oz books, when Oziana was in the planning stages. Fred M. Meyer wrote to the company asking to use characters and locations from all of the Oz books in the Oz Club's new literary magazine. Harvey Plotnick, president of the company, wrote back giving his permission on April 24, 1970. The letter was reproduced in the 1971 issue.
