An affecting relic of ancient Ozish poetry, newly translated.
"Excerpt from the Oziad: Part One, The Patchwork Girl of Oz" (to give its complete title) by Frederick Otto and illustrated by Mary Reynolds is the third and final item of Oziana 1973. It appears on pages 22 and 23. The introduction tells of how the Ozites have their own versions of the Oz stories, including ancient folk poetry, and all Otto is doing is translating the stories from Old Ozish to English. This installment retells the story of The Patchwork Girl of Oz in twenty-four quatrains.
